Maisy Day

Thank you Maisy for turning this rainy summer day into so much fun!

We started the day at morning craft time at the Library. Sean found the Maisy (mouse character from children's books) stuffed animal and asked to go find a Maisy book to take home with us. The whole shelf for Lucy Cousins was empty, but we found a Maisy craft book over in the non-fiction children section. The kids loved the idea of following the instructions in the book to make craft projects.

First we made white crayon and water color pictures.

Then we decorated some colored paper to make lanterns.

For lunch, we made animals and people out of our food! Sean made a bear and Andrew made a dog wearing lettuce for clothing.

After lunch, we cut and taped the lanterns together. Sean decided we were decorating for a party.

We baked muffins and had a muffin party!

Applesauce Banana Walnut Cinnamon Nutmeg Chocolate Chip Muffins made with almond and whole wheat flour. I made the recipe myself at this cool recipe generating site: http://dabbletree.vrya.net/muffinator.php
